LEROY — LeRoy Township Supervisors voted in a special meeting on Friday, Feb. 25, to purchase the LeRoy General Store building on the corner of Mill Street and Route 414.
LeRoy resident Tom Coyle asked about the purchase price of the Leroy General Store building and what it will be used for. Coyle also noted that he would be interested in the property adjoining his, the Township’s garage, if it were to ever go up for sale.
In previous meetings, the supervisors have noted that the new building will be used definitely for future meetings.
The assessed value of the building came in at $75,000 and the supervisors voted to approve purchase of the building, at a price of $69,900 (asking price of sellers).
Insurance on the building will be obtained and electric services transferred. More information on this topic will be available at the next LeRoy Township Supervisors meeting on Monday, March 7, at 7 p.m. in the Community Association building.
