Our program this month was presented by the Troy High School Marching Band. The band director, Mr. Schwanger, shared some upcoming musical events and asked for club member requests from a list of selections he handed out. After several upbeat songs including a line dance by some club members, the band members departed to return to their classes. The Club expressed their appreciation to Mr. Schwanger and the band members for their musical presentation.
Beautification Committee chairperson, Pat Yearick, reported the fall bridge decorations have been replaced with Christmas decorations. Thanks were given to the Heritage Garden Club for refurbishing the wooden snowmen decorations.
Beverly Smith reported she has given Cynthia Eckert photographs to be included in the “Whose Story is It?” scrapbook. Pat Yearick asked members to remember Marion Ballard with card who is celebrating her 101st birthday on November 20th. Cards were also sent to three club members who are having some health problems. Happy Birthday was sung to the November birthdays who included Marion Ballard, Marilyn Bohlayer, Marie Clark, Fran Gardiner, Yalonda Pick, and Louise Williams. It was also noted that Marie and Owen Clark are celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary this month.
The Club members gave round of applause to show their appreciation to the Vet’s Club ladies for the delicious meal they prepared. The next meeting will be held on December 18th at the Troy Methodist Church. This Christmas program will include group singing, choral selections, dramatic readings, a trumpet duet, and piano/organ selections highlighting talents of Thursday Study Club members. Olynda Smith will be the presider.
