ARMENIA — Armenia Township supervisors reported road work during their July meeting on Thursday, July 9.
Supervisor Foulkrod reported that the Township will be replacing the sluice pipe on Fallbrook Road. This project affects the planned dust control. John Brown asked if the roadman would rake both corners of Dunbar Road due to some large stones being in the road.
Due to the Fallbrook Road project and not being able to combine the job with another township, the board cancelled this year’s tar and chip plans. Instead, supervisors made the decision to buy one truckload of road oil and spread it at Township cost by priority: year-round residents, active camps, then remaining resident sites as far as the oil lasts.
After listening to the residents’ comments, the Board moved to not adopt the ATV Ordinance which would have allowed ATV’s on Township roads. The current Ordinance not allowing ATVs stands. Motion by Supervisor Harris, seconded by Supervisor Morgan to not adopt ATV Ordinance 2020-01. Motion passed. The vote was unanimous.
The next Armenia Township supervisors meeting is scheduled for Aug. 13 at 7 p.m.
Secretary Mallory Babcock reported there were no permits issued. Babcock also reported that the school tax bills have been mailed.
