LEROY TOWNSHIP — LeRoy Township supervisors met on July 13 at the LeRoy community association building at 7 p.m to discuss road reports and more.
A new Cinder source was discussed and a decision was made to try a couple of loads if the “Insurance” issues on the delivery portion were worked out with Rider’s Excavating.
A total of 9215 gallons of dust oil was applied in two separate applications.
The new roof has been installed by Frog Hollow construction at a cost of $11,500.
A motion was made by Jason Krise and seconded by Mike Miosi to advertise for a bid to paint the township building.
Three bids were received for installing 3820 linear feet of ‘Guide Rail’ on Leroy Mountain Road. Chemung Supply’s bid was at $72,994 for new and $54,924 for used. MR Dirt submitted a bid at $82,780 for new guide rail. Wm. Orr & Sons, Inc submitted a bid at $83,612 for new and $40,828 for used.
The need for a fall cleanup day was discussed. On a motion by Mike Miosi with a seconded from Jason Krise a fall cleanup day will be scheduled for Sept.
The township received Act 13 money in the amount of $187,772.20. A discussion was held on whether to invest or spend some on more material for our roads. Investment options will be looked at as well as ‘ball park’ costs for paver placed material on a couple of needy township roads.
During the road report, it was said 90% of the roads are graded and ditches cleaned. Some berm trimming and brush trimming on portions of Cider Mill, Dodge City, Lilley Hill and LeRoy Mountain roads was done.
