LEROY — Township supervisors received complaints from residents at the Sept. 14 meeting.
The township has received complaints about water running over the ditches on Leroy Mountain Road and washing out some people’s driveways. Commissioner Jason Krise suggested they as the Conservation District for advice pertaining to digging the ditch down as the ditch is already at bedrock in several locations and would require jackhammering.

The Leroy Heritage Museum held its monthly meeting on Sept. 14. After the approval of last months minutes the commissioners moved to finance. The General Fund currently holds $146,727.07 while the Impact Fund holds $267,377.57.
Regarding concerns raised in last month’s meeting, Ted Tomlinson had reached out to PennDOT requesting a speed survey on Mill Street in Leroy so it may be properly marked. Tomlinson remarked that PennDOT had assured him they would get to it in two weeks but they have not yet started the survey. Tomlinson said he would call again.
The biggest project for the township this fall is the expected construction on Jennings Road that would cover the road in 8 inches of 2RC stone using a paver machine. Commissioners read a bid from Hammaker East in Fayetteville, PA as well as bids from Glenn O Hawbaker and Bristol’s Excavating. The commissioners voted to accept the Bishop’s bid using stone from nearby Leroy Quarry at a total price of $73,975. Work is expected to begin in mid-to-late October.
