The Bradford Co. Republican Committee is sponsoring its 4th annual essay contest open to all Bradford Co students in grades 4 through 12.
The topic is "How Would You Define An American Hero?"
Essays will be grouped into three divisions: grades 4, 5, and 6; grades 7, 8, and 9; and grades 10, 11, and 12.
Winners in each division will be awarded a plaque and a $50 cash prize. Second place winners will each receive certificates and a $25 cash prize.
The awards will be presented on November 6, at 5 pm in front of the Bradford County Courthouse by Commissioners Doug McLinko and Daryl Miller. At that time the winners will be given the opportunity to read their essays.
All entries must be post marked by October 5. Please follow limits: grades 4 to 6, 100 words. grades 7 to 9, 300; and grades 10 to 12, 500 words.
Include title page with your name, address, phone number, grade, name of school, and name of teacher.
