This year’s “non-event” will honor all the new providers who joined the “Arnot Family” in the past year and also recognize all the essential workers who kept Arnot’s doors open during this challenging time. The donor being honored this year is the Josh Palmer Fund for its invaluable support of the Falck Cancer Center at Arnot Health.
For twenty years, the Palmer Fund has raised money to assist cancer patients and their families. Through corporate sponsorship of events like basketball and golf tournaments, the fund helps patients meet the expenses brought on by their illness. Medication, co-pays, and travel expenses have all been funded by the Palmer Family, in gratitude for the successful care Josh Palmer received at the Falck Cancer Center when he was in his 20s.
“This is a wonderful honor,” Josh, a 20-year cancer survivor said, “but the people to truly honor are the members of this community who have supported our efforts for 20 years.”
These unusual times have called for creativity in event planning, so this year’s event represents the Arnot Health Foundation’s efforts to develop a fun, safe, socially-distanced way to celebrate our healthcare heroes and raise funds to support the essential work of the Arnot Health system. There’s no fancy outfit to buy, babysitting to arrange, or drive to make. However, reserving a non-existent seat at the event will still come with benefits, like being entered into an online drawing for locally themed packages to support our business community.
Understanding that these are uncertain times, the Foundation team is happy to work with any local business and find a way for them to show their support while also providing promoting their services.
