The minutes of the regular May meeting were approved, as were the minutes of the special meeting held May 11. At that meeting the Supervisors voted to approve Scott Shedden's addition to the Ag Security area, and voted to do the Lilley Hill Road Dirt & Gravel Road project. The cost of the Lilley Hill project is $121,005, and the township must pay $13,650 of that amount. The Supervisors also approved the Siefort subdivision at the special meeting.
The treasurer's report was approved with these balances: General Fund checking, $91,139,90; Impact Fee, $155,032.60; General Fund Debit, $1,099.01; Jumbo CD, $201,375; PLGIT, $48,890.78.
Because of an absence of Auditors, the township accounts have not been audited since 2009. Last year two new Auditors were appointed and are working on catching up those years. They now are working on 2012. Mr. Tomlinson said they found an apparent disparity, but it seems to be in the township's favor. The numbers will be reviewed. The audits of the other years are going well.
The 15-day public comment period for the Ag Security Area addition has expired with no comments received. There is a 180-day timeline for final approval of the decision. That period was activated on the day the addition was approved.
As noted the Supervisors approved the Lilley Hill Road project under the Dirt & gravel Road project, but the Conservation District has not released the funds. PennDOT has visited the site and given consent for an existing sluice to be used. This will facilitate the project. which must be completed by October. No work can begin until authorized by the Conservation District.
Because one of the township's roadmen has some medical issues and another has another county job, Mr. May has been working alone on the roads. Mr. Tomlinson suggested that in order to complete the Lilley Hill project the township either seek assistance from another township, contract the job out or hire another worker.
Mary Jennings was a visitor. She sought approval for a subdivision request which would connect the Jennings property to a previously "land-locked" area. The Township voted to approve the subdivision and signed the required documents, which Mrs. Jennings will take to the County for further action.
The Supervisors reviewed an Act 13 survey from the University of Pittsburgh. It asked the Supervisors to list how the funds have been disposed, but did not ask for the dollar amounts. The Supervisors agreed to fill out the survey, which will be returned in a postage-paid envelope.
Ford Motor Co. has issued an extended warranty for the 2011 F-550's EGT (Emission Gas Technology). This will extend the warranty to eight years and 80,000 miles
There was no Fire Board meeting last month but Mr. Miller reported it was "a busy month." Using funds from the Firemen's Relief Association, the department is seeking to replace its Hurst "Jaws of Life" rescue tool, which is obsolete and cannot be used with the newer type of power plant. This could cost in the $40,000 to $70,000 range. Several products are being demonstrated to see which best serves the department's needs.
Mr. May reported that all the roads have been graded and rolled and the banks mowed. He said there are a couple of sluices to change. Three hundred tons of gravel was spread in various places. He is awaiting word from the Conservation District before the Lilley Hill job begins.
He said he would get a load of 1B stone from the LeRoy Quarry to be used for burying sluices.
Dust oil was applied since the last meeting. Mrs. Jennings commented "the oil is a good thing." It has kept down the dust.
The Supervisors voted to pay the bills as presented.
