TROY — CareerLink is inviting the public to come to its third annual job fair, this year, at Troy’s Alparon Park.
“The 2020 event was cancelled, so, we are back.. bigger and better than ever,” said Darlene Wampole, PA CareerLink Site Administrator and Bradford County Action, Inc. Workforce Specialist.
This year’s event will be Wednesday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Employers from Bradford County and surrounding Pennsylvania and New York Counties will have entry level to executive positions available for this job fair for participants to apply for.
“So many job applications are online. For us in Bradford County, that connection between an employer and a potential applicant is huge! Giving them the opportunity to ‘make a connection’ and meet in person is what this fair has always been about,” said Wampole. “If you are looking to enter the workforce, re-enter the workforce, or change occupations, now is the time!”
All employers participating in the event are asked to have current job postings available.
“Employers, if you have one job or 100 jobs to fill, this is the perfect opportunity to meet a pool of applicants in person. Space is limited, so register early,” said Wampole.
The Bradford Sullivan Counties Pennsylvania CareerLink(r), Troy Chamber of Commerce, Canton Chamber of Commerce, Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce, Towanda - Wysox Central Bradford County Chamber of Commerce and Northern Tier Regional Planning & Development Commission have come together to host the 2021 Greater Bradford County Job Fair and Community Services Event.
“Jobseekers, this is your chance to connect with employer representatives in person. Employment opportunities will include entry level to professional, and cover a broad spectrum of occupations. Employers from Bradford and the surrounding counties in Pennsylvania and New York will be attending,” said Wampole.
She said a special addition to this year’s job fair will be the community services section, which will showcase local organizations and inform the public how they can connect to their services.
“Some helpful hints for jobseekers are: Dress the part! Make a good first impression! Prepare a 30 second ‘infomercial’ about your skills and strengths! Bring copies of your resume,” she said.
“We, the sponsors, are excited to provide this opportunity to the community especially during this unprecedented time. Businesses all across our region are hiring! Looking forward to seeing everyone on May 19, at Alparon Park.”
