He is well known in the area for his work with youth sports including youth and HS Soccer as an administrator, coach, and referee, and little league as a manager, coach and umpire. In addition, Mr. Gonzalez served as a volunteer with a host of community organizations, including the Towanda Library, the Abuse and Rape Crisis Center, the Towanda Area School District Strategic Planning Committee, PTG groups, etc.
He is seeking the position to bring his technical experience, problem solving and project management skills to County Government. Jeff and his wife Diane are homeowners in Towanda, and intend to retire and reside in Bradford County.
Vincent James (featured Headliner) is a stand-up comedian, native New Yorker, and a lover. At least two of those things are true. He grew up in Port Chester, NY, always enjoyed performing and has a background in theatre (in the most masculine way possible, I swear). “My greatest life achievement is choreographing a dance sequence in my 8th grade performance of Grease.” It’s usually the first thing he brings up when he meets someone. “I like to run around stage and yell into a microphone, which is the dream life for a guy who can’t sit still. If I’m able to make the audience laugh, even better. I would describe my comedic style as high-energy, physical, relatable and raw."
Mike Lemme will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. He recently debuted his first solo show "Where I'm From" at the 2015 Frigid New York Festival to solid reviews. By mixing his cultural observations with biographical material,
Lemme proves there are few things comedy can’t make better. Mike started performing stand-up as a teenager. Since then he has been featured on PBS, written for Nickelodeon and Second City, warmed up audiences for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and was part of the production staff for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and CONAN.
Daniel Simonsen is a Norwegian comic and the 2012 Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award winner for Best Newcomer. Simonsen began performing in 2004 in his native country of Norway and moved to London to progress his career in comedy. He has performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2009 but 2012 was undoubtedly his most successful year to date. As well as his Best Newcomer Award, his show "Champions" received rave reviews, he supported Simon Amstell on his UK tour in 2012 and 2015 and appeared on Russell Howard's Good News in 2012. Simonsen has won and been nominated for awards both in Norway and the UK including Chortle Best Newcomer, Best Comedian at Comedy Fight Club and the So You Think You're Funny competition. Since 2014, he has had a recurring role in Vic and Bob's BBC sitcom House of Fools as Erik. Simonsen is currently performing all over New York on shows like Knitting Factory, Wyatt Cenac's "Night Train", Ghandi, UCB, Slipper Rooms, Tribeca Comedy Lounge, Creek and the Cave, plus more!
The event is a fund raiser of the “Gonzalez for Commissioner Committee”.
Jeff Gonzalez decided to promote the event with one of the following goals: 1) to raise so much money, so that he could crush the opposition, or, more realistically, 2) to bring to Bradford County an event that to my knowledge has never been staged, and simultaneously raise some funds in support of my campaign.
“My wife Diane and I are always seeking out live entertainment events in the area. Musical comedies, and minstrel shows, always seem to be popular. It is with that in mind that I decided to promote this event, and hopefully fill the house.”
