On October 15, Guthrie dedicated a boardroom in memory of the late William H. Ransom III, the Guthrie Healthcare System’s longest serving board chairman. Dr. Joseph Scopelliti, Guthrie CEO said, “It is really an honor to be able to put his name on this room. Bill was someone who made things easier and he rarely took credit for the things that were accomplished but rarely would have been accomplished without him.” William “Bill” Ransom III was a long-time community volunteer and Valley businessman, Ransom served on numerous Guthrie boards and committees and was the longest-serving chairman of the board of Guthrie Healthcare System, having served for almost 18 years. He led the Guthrie organization through integration with two hospitals, Guthrie Corning Hospital in 1999 and Towanda Memorial Hospital. Ransom passed away in July at the age of 73. |
