The Fall Fling Festival was started by a lady in the community that wanted a way to give back to the community, so she started this festival in the yard of her home.
In 2012 the Canton Fire Department took over the festival with expectations of growing the festival into what it is today, and still have plans to grow it even larger. The Fall Fling Festival continues to give back to the community through numerous out reach programs including:
Hat/Glove to each student in Canton Elementary School, a large donation to the Canton School District for the Giving Tree Program, community Smoke Alarm give away, Easter Egg Hunt, and Donations to the March of Dimes, Endless Mountain Pregnancy Care Center, Food Pantry, Garth's Run Across America to name a few. The department is always striving to reach out to the community through many types of fundraising events. Canton Fire Department appreciates all the community support.
