TOWANDA — Bradford County Commissioners approved a resolution which supports the whole milk choice in county schools.
“It’s a building block of young people,” said Commissioner Daryl Miller, who also sited that it should be the child’s choice what type of milk they want to drink with their school lunch.

Commissioner McLinko wanted to discuss the CNA wage increase for the Bradford County Manor, a resolution they have approved during the salary board portion of the meeting.
“It’s tough to keep workers,” said McLinko, citing that they want to have competitive wages to keep the hires on the job. “It’s the right thing to do for these people.”
Commissioner Miller noted that the Bradford County Manor is a great place to work.
“It’s a great opportunity, a great career choice,” he said. “We encourage people to apply.
Commissioners noted that they have a wide variety of positions available, starting at full time, part time, and even tuition reimbursement for applicant to attend school while beginning their career.
The commissioners plan to continue to prioritize the hiring of the manor.
Commissioner John Sullivan wanted to give a ‘shout out’ to two local groups - St. Agnes School and the Towanda baseball team. The reason he wanted to publicly recognize both groups is because they had helped get veteran’s graves ready for Memorial Day, which is on Monday, March 31.
The next Bradford County Commissioners meeting will be Wednesday, June 9, at 10 a.m. in the courthouse. The day change is due to Commissioner Miller and Michelle being out of the office on Thursday.
