Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital’s Community Multidiagnostic Blood Analysis (CMBA) is a physician-approved, community screening program featuring 38 blood tests—all from one blood draw and for one low cost of $52. An optional take home colorectal screening kit is available for $7. Men aged 50+ and men under 50 with a family history of prostate cancer can opt to add the prostate specific antigen (PSA) test to the CMBA panel for an additional $18 or as a standalone test for $22.
Anyone participating in the CMBA testing is required to fast for at least 12 hours prior to the test; 14 hours is recommended. During this time, participants may drink as much water as they like and should continue to take all medications.
CMBA is offered in nine locations throughout Tioga and Potter counties during the month of September. Pre-registration is required. Scheduling an appointment ensures that your information and specimen labels are ready for your arrival, streamlining the screening process.
Call now to make an appointment at any of the following sites:
Saturday, September 12, Blossburg Fire Hall, 6 am - 9 am
Tuesday, September 22, Morris Social Hall, 6 am - 9 am
Thursday, September 24, Middlebury Fire Hall, 6 am - 9 am
Saturday, September 26, Mansfield Fire Hall, 6 am - 9 am
The blood specimens are sent to Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital’s clinical laboratory to screen for diabetes, anemia, prostate cancer, and diseases of the heart, liver, thyroid, or kidney.
Results are sent to the participant’s healthcare provider for interpretation. Participants will also receive a copy of their results and an explanation of the tests performed. Please note a CMBA screening is not intended to replace ongoing medical care.
Cash or checks made payable to SSMH are accepted.
