Rev. Diane Bentley led those in attendance through a thoughtful message on the purpose of Lent for each of us as Christians. Using a handout found on the Internet, she encouraged each participant to really think about their Lenten practices and how they help us to better understand our relationship with God. Each spring, we have the opportunity to clean up our souls, to re-focus, to think anew about faith and about God.
Donation boxes are scattered in the room for individuals to give a donation for the meal and meditation that is then used by the Ministerial association to support both the Canton Food Pantry and Heifer International.
Next week, all will enjoy lunch provided by the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) including chili, coleslaw, roll, and brownie. Rev. Bonnie Browning will give the message.
Join us, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Canton Ecumenical Parish for lunch beginning at 11:45 a.m.
