The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Mrs. Deeghan submitted a report with $1,742.13 in real estate taxes.
Gary & Judy Brown were granted VA exemption status. Bradford County refunded the county’s portion of their taxes and tonight the Supervisors voted to refund the township’s share, $236.60.
The treasurer’s report was approved with these balances: General Fund, $55,148.20; Liquid Fuels, $121,878.41; EZ Access CD, $75,709.04; 36-month Fix CD, $50,758.00; Impact Fee/Capital Reserve, $141,723.98; Towanda Creek Watershed, $5.00; Fire Escrow Insurance, $8,000. The escrow account is to cover demolition from a recent fire. The previous amount in the fire escrow account was released after the completion of a demolition of the Dohrman property.
Mr. Petrowski reported that the road crew has been busy and plan to do a ditch job at the intersection of McMurray and Minnequa Main Roads where a truck had dropped off the road. The township will extend a 24” pipe and will enlarge the intersection. This will be done for considerations of safety.
The Supervisors authorized a tune-up for the 2001 Volvo 10-wheeler. Also authorized was an arrangement for Barry Matthews to lubricate and service the trucks this winter at a cost of $140. This would take the burden of Mr. Petrowski and Mr. Holmes if the winter is busy and the equipment is used heavily.
Mr. Petrowski reported that the new excavator is working well.
The Supervisors cast a ballot for the PSATS Unemployment Compensation Group Trust board.
Tom May renewed his junkyard permit fee of $200.
The clean-up of the Parks property has not been done in accordance with the court order, so the Supervisors agreed to take the Parks property to criminal court. A letter will be sent for the Spencer property, where a clean-up also has been requested.
The Commonwealth will audit the 2014 Liquid Fuels account on October 19 and the Auditor General’s office will audit the township accounts for 2012, 2013 and 2014 on October 21 and 22.
PennDOT reported the 2016 estimated allotment for Liquid Fuels will be $151,567.46 (an increase of $18,318.63 from 2015). The turnback payment will be $26,520, the same as last year.
The township received PURTA (Public Utility Realty Tax Act) payment of $475.04 from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The township’s Unemployment insurance contribution rate will be 3.70% for 2016. This is a drop from 4.0% this year.
A letter was received from SEI thanking the township for purchasing the excavator.
A construction permit was issued for Beaver Dam Energy LLC for a 7,200 sq. ft. steel building.
Approvals were received for a subdivision request for Gauge Rockwell Trust and Sherra Morgan and approval from the Sanitation Committee for Sherra Morgan.
