CANTON — Canton Township continued its practice of weekly meetings on March 8.
Rich Bardo was again present with another CAD designed building drawing. The current plan calls for a building 60 feet wide and 160 feet long, with 20 feet on the end of the length dedicated to office space. The building would have 5 sixteen-foot doors and 2 fourteen-foot doors for equipment.
Bardo’s design would be a steel-framed building and would take an estimated 12 weeks to get all the materials needed for construction after the time of order.
The drawing was purely to help supervisors visualize what their ideal building would look like. The township will have to advertise for bids on the project before accepting a particular company’s design.
The supervisor board also discussed the need to hire an independent insurance adjuster to ensure they receive the correct amount from an insurance settlement. The contractor from Adjuster International would charge 4% of the overall settlement. The board agreed to hire the adjuster.
The board hopes to speak with architect Larry Foor in regards to his estimate on construction of the building for next meeting which will happen on March 15, at 8 p.m.
