Another visitor was Joe Saxe of Bradford County PennDOT, who brought in the Agility Agreement, which has been approved by the township and Harrisburg. The plan is good for five years, and may be extended for up to three years thereafter. The township and PennDOT will swap services. Under the work plan that is proposed the township will mow along several state roads including Ellenton Mountain, E. Canton Cross Road, Southside Road, Grover Road, Spencer Road, Lower Mountain Road and Minnequa Main. In exchange, PennDOT will do oil and chip for roads selected by the Supervisors. Upper Mountain and Graham Road probably will be done under this program this year. The township had a balance of 3,818 gallons of oil unused from the last agreement, and the new agreement will have another 16,510 gallons of oil. The chipping will be done around June 27. Mr. Ferguson signed the agreement and once the unions accept it it will be authorized by PennDOT as well.
Under the Road report, Mr. Petrowski says that the gas company will widen Taylor Road and also thinks that the gas driller will tar and chip Beech Flats Road. Some work needs to be done on the front ends of the trucks. He recommended that the township acquire a mini-excavator to do some ditch work and also serve as a boom mower. He said it would save wear and tear on the large backhoe. Ms. Blaney said that getting a trailer to transport the equipment also would save money. Costs will be researched for these items.
The snowplow is showing signs of wear but still could be used if mounted on the grader. Prices for a new plow will be obtained.
