Evan's volunteers from both the Republican and Democratic Parties obtained signatures of more than 1,800 Republicans and more than 600 Democrats, well exceeding the 250 threshold needed to get on each party's ballot. "Evan is humbled by and grateful for the outpouring of support the community has given him. Evan chose not to pass his own petition so as to not put local citizens in an uncomfortable position, so the more than 2,400 signatures were all obtained by his supporters," said Committee Co-Chair, retired Lt. Colonel John Herrington. "We were really pleased with the effort. Now we just need to keep the momentum going through the May 19th primary."
Evan is a partner at Brann, Williams, Caldwell & Sheetz, a law firm started by his grandfather, the late Judge Williams, in their home town of Troy in 1950. A graduate of Troy Area High School ('89), Cornell University ('93) and Cornell Law School ('96), Evan practiced law for five years in the litigation department of a large law firm in Chicago while his wife, Tricia T. Williams, M.D., completed medical school and her residency in Family Practice. In 2002, Evan and his family returned to Bradford County where he joined his father, Evan S. Williams Jr., and six other lawyers in private practice.
Evan and his wife, Tricia, reside in Troy with their three children, Sophie (14), Owen (12) and Natalie (9), where he remains heavily involved in the community. Evan coaches numerous youth athletic teams, including football, baseball, soccer, and basketball and serves on several non-profit boards, including the United Way of Bradford Co, Western Alliance Emergency Services, Martha Lloyd Community Services, Western Bradford Development Authority, and Troy Little League.
