Mt. Glen farm, owned and operated by Dean and Rebecca Jackson of Columbia Crossroads was one that received an state citation from the PA FFA Association. Dean has had nearly 40 years of service and commitment to the local FFA chapters starting as a member and officer of the Troy FFA and then as a Northern Region State Vice-President.
Dean has acted as a speaker at the Bradford County FFA Leadership Conference, has been the official judge at the county dairy evaluation CDE, and has hosted the dairy cattle evaluation at his farm. Dean is also a member of the Troy FFA alumni and a member of the Troy Ag Advisory Committee. His greatest support comes through encouragement to all advisors and members in all that Bradford Co FFA does and especially when it comes to activities that revolve around public speaking and leadership.
Goodview Farm, owned and operated by Jay and Faye Good and Ben and Karla Mullen of Canton also received a state citation from the PA FFA Association. Jay's FFA experience started over 35 years ago as the reporter, then president of the Harry Gates chapter of the PA FFA. The Good's and Mullen's have allowed visits to the 600 cow dairy farm and have also hosted the County Dairy Evaluation Career Development Event.
The Goodview Farm has also been a strong supporter of From Our Farms to Your Arms, which is a local event to Canton supporting and showcasing local producers, farmers, and agricultural support structure.
Jay is a 1976 DEKALB award winner and a recipient of the Keystone Degree from the then Harry Gates chapter which is today the Canton Chapter of the FFA. Jay is also a member of the Canton FFA Alumni and sits on the Canton Ag Advisory Committee. The family is a strong supporter and encourager of the County FFA activities as well as agricultural education beyond the FFA level.
