January’s minutes and treasurer’s report were approved.
The Board continues to plan for a busy 2015 season. Having established yearly themes: 2013 ‘Dairying through the Ages ‘, 2014 ‘Our Musical Heritage’, this year’s theme ‘Timber’ will focus on the Timber and related industries in the area. Research by Dave Lennington will be featured in the Museum Guide, monthly newsletter and museum floor exhibit. This year’s Pennsylvania Heritage Festival (September 19 & 20) will feature Timber related activities and artisans.
Preparations are in progress to be a vendor at the Pennsylvania Bus Association Marketplace, March 17 at the Valley Forge Convention Center. This event will provide an opportunity to market the museum and the PA Heritage Festival to tour bus companies throughout the state.
The 5th annual Museum Guide will soon go to press, Thanks to the many businesses and individuals who purchased an ad and supported the Museum.

A thank you to Copper Tree for thinking of us with Civil War era items to be sold in our gift shop, the ‘Settler’ (store) at the Heritage Festival and for use in children’s programs.
The Bradford County Heritage Association will again present ‘Farm Days 1866’ a day long program offered free of cost to Bradford, Sullivan, Tioga and Lycoming counties public, private and home schooled 4th grade students. Monday and Tuesday May 11& 12, 9 AM until 3 PM on The Heritage Village and Farm Museum grounds, Troy. Schools currently registered: Troy, Canton, Wellsboro, Wyalusing, Mansfield, New Covenant, North Rome, Sullivan County and Trinity Lutheran. The program is the same both days. Students need to bring a bag lunch (suggestion: pack a lunch that reflect foods of 1866).
The Program will bring to life many of the activities described in the book Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The students are encouraged to read the book before attending. The book covers a year in the life of 9 year old Almanzo Wilder.
The Bradford Co Heritage Association is honored to be chosen for a $1000 Staples Foundation Grant. The private charitable arm of Staples, Inc. With this grant BCHA has purchased and is pleased to offer a set of 30 Farmer Boy books per registered school through the Staples Foundation. BCHA is a United Way Agency
Guest Jennifer Malehorn described various ways to promote the museum and its programs, interactions with community clubs and organizations as well as web activity.
Deb Lutz, Janet Ordway and Barb Barrett will attend the upcoming Non-Profit Workshop in Towanda.
Discussions about projects to complete before opening Day in April, organizing a raffle, Logo development, 2017 Museum Theme, and Grants.
