Cardiovascular rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular problems including heart attack, coronary artery bypass grafting surgery, stable angina, angioplasty, valve surgery, heart transplant and stenting procedures. Participating in a cardiovascular rehabilitation program helps patients recover faster and improves their quality of life. The program includes exercise, education counseling, and support for patients and their families.
The Arnot Health Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has been certified since 2004 and recertified every 3 years. Staff goes through an intense process that includes verification of competencies, quality and performance improvement as well as patient outcomes. The program culminates in a peer-review by AACVPR professionals to verify and validate the submission. This process takes a year to complete and the Cardiac Rehabilitation/Secondary Prevention Program in the Heart & Vascular Institute at Arnot Health consistently has been granted certification and recertification with current recertification running through August 31, 2017.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Arnot Health is nationally recognized by AACVPR for achieving excellent patient outcomes and has been cited as a benchmark program by AACVPR, as well.
