The minutes of the May meeting were accepted.
The Secretary responded to these PA One Call notices in the past month:
Armenia Township replacing sluice pipes on Scott Road
Talisman excavation for sump and ditch on Klein well pad and cleaning ditches on Fallbrook Road
Communication was received form the Bradford County Conservation District regarding “Proposal for Creation or Modification” from land owners.
Bradford County Sanitation submitted a property waiver for David Patti. It was signed by the Board.
The Supervisors were invited to the grand opening for Bradford County Veterans Memorial Park and to the Bradco open house.
A Donation request letter was sent to Gannon Insurance for tar and chipping project
Treasurer Gary Horning reported these balances: State fund, $3,654.67; State Fund money market, $69,468.77; Township Fund, $35,392.27; Township money market, $2,627. 43; Capital Reserve Fund, $266,116.05; First Citizens CD, $84,620.49 for a total of $461,879.68.
Mr. Horning informed the Board that the 2014 Impact fund is $343,766.23. The Financial Report was accepted and the Supervisors voted to pay the bills.
No Building or Driveway permits were issued in the last month.
Road Foreman Steve Harris stated roads are being graded in anticipation of tar and chipping for dust control.
Mr. Harris met with AES regarding the drainage issue. The problem is still not resolved and AES will be monitoring the drainage.
The issue with Frontier poles on Carnright Road is still unresolved.
Environmental studies for the Mountain Avenue project are almost completed and the contract has been sent to Bradford Commissioners for signature. The next step will be engineering studies.
EMC Ken Krise reported he is looking into getting a base station setup at the Township building.
The Minutes from the last School House meeting were read: The Burman School Committee met on May 21, 2015 at the school house with Beth Horning, Abby Werlock, Marcene Billingsley, Barb Andrus, and Brenda Brewer present. There will be a cleaning bee on June 25 and June 26 (if needed) at the school house from 10 – 2. There will be a “Save The School” Yard Sale on Saturday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations of good quality items will be accepted. Hot dogs and refreshments will also be sold. All funds raised will go towards restoring the school building. Contact Beth Horning 297-2391 with donations. The main items needing attention are the foundation, electrical wiring, painting, and the propane heater. Abby Werlock was asked to draft a letter to the Armenia Township Supervisors asking for permission to continue with restoration of the building. The following committee positions were chosen and agreed upon by all present:Beth Horning, Chair; Abby Werlock, Vice-Chair; Brenda Brewer, Secretary/Treasurer. The next meeting will be June 25th at 10 a.m. while cleaning takes place. Everyone welcome to attend.
Matt Riel gave the AES report He said AES has adopted part of Route 6 for cleanup. AES also presented the Township with a donation towards the cost of the tar and chipping. The Board thanked him for the donation.
AES cleaned up the trash spill on Dewey Hollow Road. The Board thanked them for doing this.
After a lengthy discussion between the Board and the guests it was been decide that the Township will be tar and chipping Fallbrook Road from the top of the mountain down to the corner of Douglas.
Due to receipt of the 2014 Impact Fee monies, the Board decided to reduce the cost to those residents who want tar and chipping $200 for a 200x16 foot section with each additional unit of 50 feet being $175. The Board directed the Secretary to put an ad in the paper with a deadline of June 25th.
A Camcorder for the Township has been purchased.
Purchase of a new truck for the Township has been tabled until the Budget meeting.
The Cinder shed vandalism was discussed.
Mr. Horning stated Flynn Energy are locking the Township in for 12 months at $1.64 per gallon. Flynn said that other residents can call for the same quote, depending on usage.
