The minutes of the March meeting were approved as corrected.
Several PA One Call Notices were responded to in the month:
Talisman removed a temporary water line on Mountain Avenue
Tri-Co installed a light at 41 Stoney Ledge Lane
Talisman dug up and backfilled a pipe on Manns Lane and removed contaminated soil at 2509 Fallbrook Road
David Patti dug profile holes for a sand mound on Carnwright Road
Drilling packages were received from Larson Design Group for the Harris well and from Talisman for wells in Columbia Township.
All three Supervisors will attend the Watson Diesel Open House.
A letter was received from Matt Riel of AES regarding drainage problem on Swamp Road. Mr. Riel discussed the drainage issue and agreed to inspect the area again.
Dirt and Gravel Roads program submitted an approved dust suppressant list.
Registration was completed for Matt Lee for Excavation Training.
Supervisors Harris and Morgan have registered to attend the Northern Tier Summit
Gary Horning submitted the Treasurer’s Report with these balances: State fund, $2,020.56; State Fund Money Market, $91,457.84; Township fund, $1,823.01; Township Fund money market, $2,626.98; First Citizens CD, $84,091.75; Capital Reserve fund balance, $296,094.03.
The Supervisors approved the bills list for payment.
Steve Harris reported the subject of record keeping was discussed at the COG meeting.
Road Foreman Steve Harris stated he and Supervisor Morgan attended the Municipality Summit where the main subject matter was flood plain information.
The Roadman has been cutting brush and doing maintenance on equipment.
EMC – Ken Krise stated he had his radio repaired. This was covered by warranty. He also Investigated a report of a potential hazard spill and determined it was sand.
Matt Riel stated the AES wind farm is doing well.
The Secretary was asked to make some changes in the Township newsletter prior to mailing it out.
`Dust oil was discussed. The Board agreed not to purchase dust oil but rather start doing tar and chipping instead. However, if there are enough residents who still want to purchase and have dust oil applied the Township will order a load to be applied. Prices for dust oil have not yet been determined.
The Supervisors agreed to put up a “Watch for children” sign on Dunbar Road but not a speed sign due to cost of process and the lack of enforcement.
The Supervisors voted to purchase a woods ditch bank mower.
The Ford Township truck inspection was discussed and it was agreed to have any necessary repairs done.
Supervisor Harwick discussed the options the Township has for trucking materials. Supervisor Harris will make some calls and report back at the next meeting.
