Resident Dan Bastion questioned why the drainage problem by his property is still unresolved. The Supervisors answered that the residents in the area need to make some decisions regarding the private road drainage issues before the township can proceed with any possible corrective measures on Douglas Road. The Board felt the issue really is one for the residents of Doe Run Lane to resolve and not a township issue.
Resident James Smith asked about having reflectors placed in the road on Fallbrook Road to assist in the road visibility on foggy nights. Supervisor Harris stated he would have the road-man look into the cost.

Abby Werlock reported that the Burman School Committee met on August 21, 2015 at the school house with Beth Horning, Abby Werlock, Marcene Billingsley, Barb Andrus, and Brenda Brewer present. A cleaning bee was held in June with many years of dirt and dust washed away. The “Save the School” Yard Sale will be held on Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations of good quality items will be accepted. No clothing items. Yard sale items should be at the school by Monday, September 21st. There will also be baked goods for sale. Contact Beth Horning 297-2391 to arrange delivery of sale items to the school. All funds raised will go towards restoring the school building. Abby Werlock drafted two letters to present at the September 10 township meeting. One will be to ask the township’s permission to continue with restoration of the building so that the building may be preserved as part of our mountain history. The other letter will ask if the supervisors would like to move any of the assorted desks, tables, file cabinet, etc. into another storage area or if they would allow them to be sold at the yard sale. A work bee will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, 9/21 and Tuesday, 9/22 to get things organized for the yard sale. Anyone is welcome to lend a hand!
The letters were presented. The Supervisors agreed to go over to the school house after the meeting and decide on what the Township wants to keep and will have those items removed.
The Township also agreed to allow the Committee to continue their preservation work (with Township approval) for a time period of 20 years and that the Township would not use the building for storage purposes.
At the end of that period the project will be re-evaluated.
