Hungry visitors will find their old favorites serving up delicious meals, as well as many new additions. Among the returning vendors are the firemen with their delicious cheesesteaks and the Church of Christ with their popular salt potatoes. New additions to the food court include a sweet and savory crepes vendor and a Thai food vendor. Many more food vendors will be serving up samples in the craft area. Festival goers can sample everything from ghee (clarified butter) to granola and from salsa to gourmet nut butter. Persons over 21 can also sample wine and hard cider. As usual, apples and cheese will also be plentiful.
The Canton Lions Club and Canton Fire Department each run large booths in the festival food court. The Canton Firemen have delicious cheese steaks and Canton Lions Club serves ham BBQ, homemade apple pies and sharp cheese. Both the Lions Club and Fire Department also welcome early festival attendees with delicious breakfast sandwiches.
Returning vendors will be selling everything from crab cake sandwiches, bloomin’ onions, stroopwafels and breaded macaroni and cheese bites to fudge, beef jerky and gourmet coffee. New vendors will serve sweet and savory crepes, pad thai, granola, gourmet nut butters, baked goods, and flavored popcorn. Lil’ Andys, Archer’s Café, Blue Roof Bakery and Sweet Tooth Bakery of Canton will also have gluten-free options.
“I hope visitors come to the festival early enough to have both lunch and dinner because there are so many great options this year,” said Food Chairperson Angie Schoonover. “If you are looking for a specific food item, stop by the festival office where we keep a full menu of food being served. We can help you find exactly what you are craving!”
Countless varieties of cheese will be sold by LeRaysville Cheese Factory, Palatine Valley Dairy, the Canton Lions Club, Our House Cakes & Bakes, Stone House Cheese and Farm Fromage. Apples will be sold by Gardiner's Farm and Landon's Farm Market. Festival attendees who are over 21 can also enjoy samples from Sandcastle Winery, Bastress Mountain Winery, and Timber Ridge Winery of Canton.
