TROY — Victory Church is inviting fathers and family members to their annual Father’s Day Car Show on Sunday, June 20.
Activities for the day will begin at 10 a.m.
All cars, hot rods, street rods, rat rods, trucks, motorcycles are all welcome. Participants will receive a free event shirt and goody bag with their car entry.
Kevin and Theresa Morgan work alongside Frank and Chrissy Davenport as well as Josh and Marcia Payne on the car show every year as part of Victory’s tradition.
“Back in 2011 I had a divine intervention and met Pastor Josh at Eighmey Chevy in Troy. He overheard me talking about all the adventures I’ve had with my New Trans Am design and said to me ‘Man, that is quite a testimony!’” said Morgan.
“We got to talking and he then invited me to come to church on Father’s Day and had a small car show. Some time later, he introduced me to Frank Davenport and we became good friends. We got to talking with Pastor Josh about doing an annual car show at the church on Father’s Day, ‘Man Day,’ as he calls it.”
Since 2014, Morgan says Victory has hosted a car show every year except 2019 for rain and 2020 because of COVID.
“We have grown the car show every year, going from 100 show cars to over 300 show cars! And there are literally thousands of people on the church grounds. The cars and people are absolutely amazing but the whole point is to show love and lead people to Christ!” said Morgan.
There will also be free admission and lunch for those who participate.
First place will be a $300 gift certificate and trophy. Second place will be a $200 gift certificate and a trophy. Third place will be a $100 gift certificate and a trophy.
There will be a burnout competition.
