Alba Borough was not the winning bidder of the Penn DOT auction for used solar radar speed signs. However, plans to replace current and add additional speed limit signs with in the borough hope to cut down on the high occurrence of speeding on all of the borough’s roadways. The PA State Police have been proactive in enforcing the speed limits within the borough in recent weeks which has been appreciated.
Alba Borough received $7,654.80 from the annual ACT 13 fund disbursement. These monies can be used to help pay for the road resurfacing or highway sign replacements as needed.
Council unanimously approved a subdivision for Marvin and Clara Woodward’s donation of land to the Alba Cemetery Association with commendation. The property is currently a vacant tree lot that will be developed for the expansion of plots in the cemetery.
The next regular monthly meeting for Alba Borough Council is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2015 in the basement of the First Christian Church of Alba at 6:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
