On April 13, two trailers were destroyed and a third damaged by a fire on Bridge Street in Roaring Branch, on the McNett Township side of the community.
Firefighters from Canton, Troy , Ralston, Franklindale, Trout Run and Hepburn Township responded to the blaze and were on the scene from 6:04 pm to 10:45 pm. The cause of the fire was declared "accidental, unknown" by the State Fire Marshall.
The fire evidently began in the trailer that had served as a residence for seven people, none of whom were home at the time of the fire. That trailer, and a second one which stored items belonging to the residents, were destroyed. A third trailer, which was vacant, sustained exterior damage. High winds contributed to the spread of the flames.
