Godspell opened off-Broadway on May 17, 1971, then revised with up-to date props and musical style in 2012 while keeping the integrity of the message intact.
This is a musical, primarily based on the Gospel of Matthew, with a series of parables using storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing.
