The Bradford County FFA recently held its county banquet where students are recognized for their year long successes.
The Keynote speaker of this event was the Secretary of Agriculture, Russell Redding. He noted the opportunities, growth and development, and successes of the members of such an organization. He then went further to share his experiences as Dean at Delaware Valley College where he noted how FFA can be extended well beyond their years as an active member.
In addition to Secretary Redding, Mara Tate, an Athens FFA graduate and PA FFA state officer went further to share the experiences and opportunities which faces any FFA member. The banquet continued on as the first place county public speakers shared their speeches and those placing in the top three in all of the Career Development Events and Supervised Agricultural Experiences were recognized. Two rounds of scholarships were then awarded.
The first were eight $500 scholarships from Talisman Energy followed by nine $500 Bradford County FFA scholarships. The evening concluded with the awarding of the overall county achievers for the past year.
