Brandon’s goal was to raise enough money to send one junior shooter and one senior shooter to the national competition in Raton, New Mexico this coming July.
The current registration fee for this event is $595 per shooter. The Troy Junior Sportsmen is expecting to send 22 shooters this July to nationals. He organized a wild game/sportsmen dinner at Canton High school. Approximately sixty dinners were served consisting of: elk, buffalo chili, moose BBQ, wood duck, smoked salmon, Canadian goose, cod chowder, roast beef, venison meatballs.
He also had a hunt which was raffled off, door prizes, and a crossbow raffle to raise additional funds. Aside from planning for the meal and raffle, Brandon sold tickets ahead of the event.
Brandon is an avid hunter and outdoorsmen, but unable to commit to the YHEC programs practice schedule as it interferes with other activities he loves. He wanted to do a senior project that would benefit his fellow youth outdoorsmen.
The Troy Junior Sportsmen are extremely grateful for his generous gift, which will allow 6 shooters to go to nationals this year.
