Try these Mothers day juice recipes that are sweet and feminine. Celebrate by adding a nice juice to your Mom's day breakfast. By Jim Lewis We all remember "The Three Little Pigs" story. The Big-Bad Wolf couldn’t blow down the house made of bricks and so the pigs, (Pork chop, Bacon and Ham Roll) were all protected from the evil outside. The first two houses couldn’t stand up to the outside influences and were destroyed, leaving chaos and destruction. They were not properly prepared. Does your life feel like you live in a straw house sometimes? Is there something we can learn from this children’s fairytale and is there a way to be better prepared?
Everyone Has a Story to Tell and This One is About Luther Fleming (1895-1988) By William Bower4/23/2015
Do you remember the television show “Happy Days”, with the Fonz, Richie, Ralph, Potsy and friends hanging out at Arnolds? It seems that teenagers always had a favorite place to hangout back in the 50’s. When Mary Alice and I were dating, our favorite place was Barbecue Cottage. It was a drive-in restaurant where we ordered from a speaker at our parking spot. A young girl brought the food to us on a tray that hooked onto the car’s window. Of course, some of the guys had hotrods, with loud mufflers, and loud music not only blared from car radios but also from the restaurant’s speaker. We went there on our second date, and Mary Alice insisted on giving me a quarter for her barbecue. (Contrary to what some might believe it wasn’t my idea for going “Dutch”.) I still have the quarter. Recently, I received a call from a local farmer, saying that I should write an article about Luther Fleming and his little store in Windfall. He went on to say that, during the early 50’s, Luther’s store was the popular hangout for young people in the Windfall area. By Bill Bower One March evening we were getting ready to go to bed when Mary Alice yelled, “Come quick.” Since I always listen, I went to find her. There she was looking out the back door window at three deer. Since she was quite excited, it was quite evident that she did not remember what the deer had done two years ago to her spring flower garden.
By Esther Butcher Monday evening turned out to be a very noisy night. So much thunder and lightening that lasted most of the night. There was about one and a half inches of rain and the grass was really green and growing Tuesday morning.

By Lorelei Colton Unfortunately, I’m again starting out this week with messages of sympathy to the families and friends of Barb (Smiley) Eiffert, and Miles Pratt. Barb graduated with my brother Art (Shoemaker), who passed away just two short months ago, from Troy High School in 1957. Barb suffered a long, hard battle with cancer - and most certainly she, too, will be sorely missed as will Mr. Pratt.

The monthly Site council was held and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord's Prayer. President Helen Mickley conducted the meeting. For new business she announced that the yearly Craft Fair would not be held this year due to lack of help. In order to raise the money needed to pay for heating and other expenses which the proceeds from the fair usually took care of, we will have an expense box for each member to donate a dollar a week. By Richard & Joyce Pratt We have had a pretty nice week this past week with several beautiful days. The spring flowers are blooming, grass is growing.
