The monthly Site council was held and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord's Prayer. President Helen Mickley conducted the meeting. For new business she announced that the yearly Craft Fair would not be held this year due to lack of help. In order to raise the money needed to pay for heating and other expenses which the proceeds from the fair usually took care of, we will have an expense box for each member to donate a dollar a week.
The Easter Egg hunt went well, but Paul White would like to see shredded paper or something else besides straw used to hide the eggs. The straw is very dusty and hard to clean up.
Handicapped rails are being added to both lavatories where needed. The South Creek Township will be filling some of the rough spots and holes in the parking lot this spring. Also a new vacuum is needed for cleaning the hall. Paul Simons made a motion to purchase a new one and it was passed by the members.
Another suggestion was made to send a petition to Baker's office about the amount of tax levied on gas in Pennsylvania which is slightly more than fifty-five cents a gallon, and is more than most other states pay. The motion was carried.
Another concern was the lack of anywhere to dispose of old appliances and larger items..
The next Senior-Night-Out is scheduled for July 25th.
