Minnie Hunter and her daughters Deb and Sherry enjoyed lunch at the Midway last week with her grandson Ryan Hughes who was home visiting from Wyoming. They were joined by her granddaughters Brenda and Christina and grandson Joe. She said she had a wonderful time and hated to see Ryan have to go back. Don't forget about the Ralston Church Bazaar on Nov. 14 at the firehall from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm call Becky Boyer at 995-9163 or Shelly Reese at 995-9207 to rent a table to sell your crafts. Not much news this week. Marathon Bingo at the Firehall is Sat. Oct. 10th doors open at 9:00 am bingo starts at 12:00 pm the Ladies will be serving food all day. A luncheon was held on Sat for the family and friends of Graydon Roupp to share memories of him. The town is trying to get Home Town Hero Banners for the Veterans that live or lived in town. I would like to thank every one for all the nice compliments on my news in the paper. Have a great weekend all. Get out and enjoy the beautiful fall colors. Hi ! There's will be a memorial luncheon for Graydon Roupp on sat. Oct. 3rd at 1:00 pm at the Ralston Firehall for his family and friends come and share some memories of Graydon.
Would like to wish Rose Smith a speedy recovery she had knee surgery. Did any one see the bikes on Sunday it was the annual Tour Da Shunk bike ride it was a beautiful day for a bike ride. By Kathy Austin Happy Thursday !
Heartfelt sympathies go out to George and Florence Beck on the loss of George's brother in law and Florence's sister. Also heartfelt sympathy to the family of George Crawley on the passing of George. The Ralston Firehall Gun Bash was held Saturday Night. It was well attended and enjoyed. Tifany Austin and Cecil Martin would like to thank everyone who helped in getting it ready working that night and all who attended they were very happy all went well as this was there first time in charge. They would also like to thank Bob and George for letting them be involved in the past so they knew what to do. The fire hall will hold a marathon bingo on Oct. 10th. The Ralston United Methodist Church Bazaar is coming up November 14 if you would like to set up a table call Becky Boyer at (570)995-9163 or Shelly Reese at (570)995-9207 for information. Would like to sent heartfelt sympathies to the family of Lois Ribovich on her passing. We are losing a lot of lifetime residents it is sad. She will be missed. Pastor Ann Overmiller and her husband Jim renewed their wedding vows on Sat. Sept. 12th and then enjoyed a luncheon at the Fire hall with about 30 friends and family. By Kathy Austin Dorothy Roupp is home from Geisinger Hospital and doing well after undergoing a kidney transplant. All of our prayers and sympathies are with her after the loss of her husband Graydon Roupp.
Our thoughts and prayers are out to Lois Ribovich for illness and to Kenny Collister, Sr., who is recovering from heart surgery. Several have gone back to college and we wish them well: Samantha Vroman is back at Lycoming College; Alyssa Black is at Grove City; Emily Black is at Penn State; Chelsea Heatley is going to Mansfield; Kayla Ward is going to Bloomsburg University; Travis Butcher is at Wilkes University; and Kerry Moon is giong to Mansfield University. I know he is in a better place, but he will be missed. He is survived by his wife Elsie and sons and daughters. Rest in peace Cheeta. Sympathy to the family.
By Lois Ribovich The class of '56 met at the Midway on Tuesday Those who came were, Woody and Pon McKenzie, Ben and Peggy Bulkley, Shirley Pepper, Bob Bond, Jane and Ed Moore, Ginny McDonald, Dwayne Buchanan, Steve and Lois Ribovich.
Now '56'ers - our annual picnic will be August 22 at Bulkley's pond. Come at noon, will eat around o'clock. Bring a dish to pass. Notice the date change. Due to circumstances the date had to changed. Those attending were Barb and Dick Bellows, Rom and Carol Holmes, Connie and Bob Robbins, Barb Eck, Joan and Larry Wheeler, Bob and Janet Spencer, Frank and Joyce Landon, Dick and Ann Clark, Joe and Carol Williams, Bob and Jane Spencer, Carolyn and Don Bixby, Steve and Lois Ribovich, Dale Landon and Deanna Witford.
A good time was had by all. Plan on next year, it will be July 5 at the same place. More later. The next lunch will be August 3 at the Midway at noon. The Class of '56 will meet at the Midway on July 14th at noon. Claudette Lee is spending a month in Canada visiting family. Mike and Stacy Strine, Destinyy Rauhauser and friend from York visited Pastor Ann and Jim Overmiller over the holiday. Steve Reese and friend, Madison, WI, Dave Reese, and Linda Metzler, Gainesville, FL. Michele Reese, Larry Moltedo, Gainesville, Gale Orr, Jay Perry and Gladys Reese Perry, Chuck Reese and children, Mike and Jane Reese, Ft. Myers, FL, grandchildren attended a memorial for Florence Reese, Sunday. Elise Knowlden, York was home visiting relatives.
