Jan Cole originally came from Towanda. She has bowled in the women’s leagues since she was only 15 years old. She is now 85.
She moved to Troy around 1950, then to Snedekerville in 1964.
She bowled in Canton until Wayne McClure opened Terrace Lanes in Troy. For a couple of years after that she bowled in both places.
Jan was married to Red Gallew and lost him to a heart attack in 1990. Later she married Norm Cole and lost him to cancer. Jan and Whitey (Bob) Earle were best friends for 17 years and she lost him late last year on December 20, 2014.
The rest of Jan’s life is filled with a lot of wonderful memories , laughter and tears. Jan says it seems like all the girls she ever bowled with were and are about the kindest, comical, big hearted people she ever associated with. She loves them all.
