Jim was born on January 8, 1937 in Springfield to Edward (Mike) and Dorothy Jenkins. He is one of six children. Jim graduated from Troy High School in 1954. In 1958 he married Jean Walsh from Bentley Creek and they raised five children.
Jim owned and operated his dairy farm in Springfield from 1960 to 1980. Following his retirement from the dairy farm he worked for Carl Pierce Equipment and later for Sire Power. Since his retirement, Jim has served for many years as Cattle Superintendent for the Troy Fair.
Jim was introduced to bowling on early dates with Jean. He began his league bowling career as a sub on various teams in the 1960’s and 70’s. Jim and his late wife Jean, bowled in a Sunday Night Couples league ion the 1990’s. For a number of years now Jim has been bowling in the Tuesday Night Mixed League and the Wednesday Night Late League.

He has won two watches for bowling 100 pins over average, has bowled two all spare games and is especially proud of picking up a 7, 9, 10 split. Over the years he has bowled with a few first place teams. He also bowled a 174 triplicate on Wednesday night.
Jim also enjoys hunting and cutting wood when he is not bowling.
