While walking in the early evening of August 25 at the track/football field at the Canton School complex, our outdoor columnist Jim Collins observed a mature Bald Eagle flying over the complex at 5:20 p.m.
The bird was only about 200 feet from the ground and flew over the barn next to John Livezey Way between the two schools. Two adult cheerleader advisors also observed this bird.
Mr. Collins adds, "If I had been walking most anywhere else on the track, I would have never seen it. It flew about four times over the facility and then left. I am guessing that the bird was fishing along Towanda Creek and just did a 'flyover'."
He closes with, "God is Good!"
