Dave Martin Enterprises presents Bull Ride Mania at the 49th annual Tioga County on Thursday, August 13th, with all the thrills and spills bull riding entails, along with comedy, clowns, audience participation, and animal acts for all ages.
The Little Buckaroo Rodeo for Kids has three age-appropriate categories for children to compete in: Kids Sheep Riding, age 6 and under; Kid’s Stick Horse Race, age 6 and under; and Kid’s Stick Horse Race, age 7-12. A Dance Contest rounds out the Kids division of events. Each competition features a $20 purse. There is no entry fee, advance sign up and no release waiver required for the stick horse races and dance competition. No entry fee is required for the sheep riding competition, as well, but parents do need to sign a release waiver and sign-up starts at 5 p.m., with room for only the first 20 kids to compete.

For the adults, there is the Qualification Round Bull Riding (long go); Girl’s Barrel Race; Bull Hockey; and Championship Round Bull Riding (short go).
An entry fee of $50 is required for the barrel race, with $300 in prize money awarded.
Qualified riders in the bull riding events will compete for a purse of $1000 + the $50 entry fee and any bonus money carried over from previous competitions.
While Bull Hockey is not exactly like running with the bulls in Spain, the Western twist has two teams of four players with a bull chasing runners through a goal. No entry fee is needed to vie for the $100 purse, but like the other adult categories, participants are required to sign a release waiver.
Adult division participants are welcome up to 48 hours before the show, or when the show is full. Entries are on a first come, first serve basis, so participants are encouraged to enter early. To enter, phone 717-334-7724.
For the 7 p.m. track show, spectators can purchase advance sale tickets for $7 per person up to July 31. After July 31, tickets are $9.
The Fairgrounds is located in Whitneyville, just off of Route 6, midway between Mansfield and Wellsboro. For more information, go to the Tioga County Fair’s website at tiogacountyfair.com or call the Fair Secretary at 570-537-3196.
