“He chose us in him” is a phrase we must understand or it can be taken out of contexts. Much has been written about the word “chose” presenting several possible views. One of those views is God has already decided who will be in heaven and who will not be. This view portrays it does not matter how individuals live their lives, if they are the chosen they will be in heaven. But, God’s Word says all sins must be punished. Therefore, an individual cannot live their life anyway they want to for they will be punished for their sins. The result is such an individual will be separated from God for eternity. If God has already made the decision of who is chosen, then your freewill has been taken away. You are nothing more then a robot which has only been programmed. But, everyone is created with the freewill to choose which path to take, to obey or disobey God.
So, how does one know what the right view is? The key is in the phrase “in him” which actually is telling us there is a condition required for an individual to be one of the chosen. The “in him” refers to Jesus Christ. It is through Jesus Christ an individual is chosen. It is when an individual has made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. This takes place by believing, by repenting, by confessing, by being baptized and then, by living the Christian life. This will bring you into the Kingdom of God, the Church which will one day be in heaven with Jesus Christ. Jesus will be able to present you before the Father on Judgment Day as one without spot or blemish because His blood has cleansed you from all sin. The way of salvation was planned “before the creation of the world.” God knew man would eventually sin and turn away from Him. Before “creation” the plan was set in motion for Jesus to be born as a baby; in the fullness of time born, to live a perfect life, dying on the cross in our place as the perfect sacrifice.
To come before the Father you must “be holy and blameless in his sight.” The definition for “to be holy” is to be set apart. The definition for “blameless” is without blemish. This is what Jesus has done for you. His blood washed away your sins when you committed your life to Him. Then, you are a part of the chosen and will be presented as if you had never sinned. This is the plan of salvation, the plan God made before creation, the only way an individual can be reconciled to the Father and become a part of the chosen. Have you made Jesus your Lord and Savior? Search the Scripture and you will find the answers to all your questions. CONSIDER THIS VERY CAREFULLY TO BECOME A PART OF THE CHOSEN!!!
