The first thing you notice is the “praise” or blessing each Christian receives. Just knowing this fact should encourage you in your faithfulness to Jesus Christ. For Paul to write this is amazing when you realize he is in prison at the time. The average person would not praise God for being in prison, but Paul knew God would use the situation to bring about good. In this case, the letters Paul wrote to the Churches have been an encouragement to Christians whenever they read and study these letters. We can also look at this passage as a part of worship; for when you understand what God has done for you in providing salvation through His Son, Jesus, you break out praising God.
Second, the focus is on the spiritual things “in the heavenly realms”. Yes, every Christian has been promised he will receive blessings. Most of the time physical blessings or material blessings are what you think you receive because of your obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, expecting whatever endeavor you do will be blessed. Sometimes, it does happen this way; and you receive great material blessings, but the most important blessings are the spiritual ones. The most important one of all is to be in heaven with Jesus. For this to take place an individual must be cleansed of their sins through the blood of Jesus Christ as it is taught in the Scripture.
The last area for our consideration is the fact of where these blessing will come from. It is a part of “the mystery of his will” which is being revealed. In order to be faithful to God you must know His will. His will has been revealed through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. God does not want any one to perish, but the individual who sins must be punished. Jesus Christ paid the price necessary for the salvation of mankind. For you to be accepted into God’s kingdom the requirement is found by obedience to Jesus Christ. It is in your hands as to what the result will be. CONSIDER VERY CAREFULLY WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!
