Those sins in our lives, (those thoughts and actions that are against God) are a weight that we cannot lift off by ourselves. We might be able to carry them around, but we CANNOT shed them. For some of us, the burden is very great and like the moth, we are trapped beneath its weight. The truth is that no matter what the weight or amount sin in us, (and all of us have it) NONE of us is able to get rid of it, and with it there is NO possibility of peace with God or Heaven after death. Going to church, being a good person, giving to the poor or helping an elderly lady across the street don’t even scratch the service as to what is necessary to be released. So if we have zero chance of doing it on our own, then WE, just like the moth need a miracle. Otherwise…
God knew this, and because of the love He has for you/us, He sent His Son. Jesus IS the miracle we need. Isn’t it time that you recognized and admitted your need for Him? Asking His forgiveness and committing to Him your life, will indeed be the answer to the weight you have been carrying. Not only that, when the weight is lifted, you will be free to fly into a world that you haven’t seen and did not even know existed. Both in the world and the next! Have you been… are you trapped? Something to think about…
Speaking of heavy baggage… A passenger was having difficulty lugging his oversized travel bag onto the plain. Helped by a flight attendant, he finally managed to stuff it in the overhead bin. “Do you always carry such heavy luggage? She asked, winded. “Never again!” the man said. “Next time, I’m riding in the bag, and my friend can buy the ticket!"
As discussed, this ISN”T how it works, but… Three people die, a Doctor a school teacher and the head of a large HMO, when met at the pearly gates by St. Peter he asks the Doctor “What did you do on Earth?' The Dotor replied, “I healed the sick and if they could not pay I would do it for free.” St. Peter told the Doctor, “You may go in.” St. Peter then asked the teacher what she did, she replied, “I taught educationally challenged children.” St. Peter then told her “You may go in.” St. Peter asked the third man, “What did you do?” The man hung his head and replied, “I ran a large HMO.” To which St. Peter replied, “You may go in, but you can only stay 3 days.”
