10/13, Bill Freeman stopped in for an early morning visit and a cup of coffee with his dad, Merrell Freeman. Merrell seems to be pretty much settled and daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Donnie Snyder, and family visit often.
10/14, was Pump n' Pantry pizza for lunch with fresh tossed salad and homemade apple cobbler. Once a month we have pizza which makes a great lunch or supper and there's always seconds to pass around.
Tuesday was also “take your kitty home day”. Staff members Maria Gross, Treasha Watkins and Sheryl Hubinsky became proud moms of calico kittens from the farm of Mike's parents, Don and Rose Shadduck. Don had said this particular litter was made up of exceptional calico kittens with beautiful markings and he was hoping to find homes for them. Michael and Jen took pictures to bring into work and the rest is history. Our staff spent the next couple of weeks choosing names and preparing for their new arrivals. Maria adopted “Rose Marie” (we later discovered that Mike's mom is “Rose Marie” - this was absolutely a coincidence!), Treasha adopted “Tori” and “Leo” and Sheryl adopted “Callie”. Mike's brother and family, Tim, Jessica and Emma adopted the two remaining kittens. We are very happy to report that all are doing well and as all proud moms do, they exchange pictures, videos and update daily.
Friday breakfast at our house means pancakes! I don't really know who is happiest, Charlie, Marvin or Merrell, but the fellows smile a lot! Michael has mastered the griddle, his pancakes are round and golden brown, just the way we all like them. As Mike flips those pancakes off the hot griddle, the girls are ready with sausage links, fruit and deliver immediately.
On 10/20, Bradford Co. Dairy Princess, Brooke Ostrander, visited. Brooke and her mom, Stacey, brought ice cream and a variety of toppings to enjoy. Martha Jean Wood and Marie Vassallo assisted folks with their ice cream dishes and toppings. The sundaes were delicious and Brooke answered many questions. Lots of good conversation! Thank you so much Brooke.
On 10/21, Dr. Wood was here for her scheduled in-home visit to see her Sherwood patients. After lunch Terri Avery from Kelly's Beauty Shop set up “shop” in the family room for those who wanted haircuts. Thank you Terri.
After the Halloween parade on Saturday, we had quite a few kids who came to trick or treat. We were prepared and the kids went up and down the hallways and in and out of rooms to receive their treats. We enjoyed seeing all the costumes, the kids are very creative. It was especially nice for Dorothy, Marvin and Jule, Marguerite, Merrell and Larry who treated their great-grandchildren and visited for a little while with family and friends.
On 11/1, Warren Inman celebrated his birthday. Warren enjoyed cake and ice cream with his Sherwood family and received birthday calls from his family in Virginia. Happy Birthday, Warren
