With that in mind I cleaned out the storage building where many items had resided in totes for at least three years. Now, where are all the tables? Of course - they are under all the boxes of merchandise, so much of the stuff will need to be moved at least twice. Then the question of pricing comes up. I don't want to appear greedy nor do I want to give anything away (although occasionally we do).
The best part of a yard sale is the people you meet and get to visit with. This is well worth the effort. (I think.)
We had planned to continue the sale through Saturday but as you know, Saturday was quite soggy.
Another event was taking place in Lowman, NY at Rod & Shelly's home. Her youngest daughter Raeleen and husband Ron were visiting from Illinois and brought newest great-granddaughter Penelope, so we had to go and meet her. Her brother plus two cousins also were visiting so it got a bit noisy from time to time due to the weather. Fortunately Rod has a large garage with lights, heat and lawn chairs.
So for all of you who are disappointed at not being able to spend a bunch of money, we may have Yard Sale Part Two later this year. Stay tuned.
Our neighbor across the street also had a sale which Cindy visited more than once. I had to walk over to see what they were offering. I came back with peanut butter fudge.
Cindy went back later and bought some of her own, There was one casualty that occurred (not due to the sale, I hope). A young man that lives down the street had what first appeared to be a horrible bike accident. I, of course, was MIA at the time so my wife piggybacked him home with his bike. He was more concerned with the bike than his own well-being. All was well as he was later observed riding up and down the street and not any slower. I remember similar episodes. Don't say much about the injuries and risk losing bike privilege.
An added benefit was the sale of my grandson's pick-up which was parked at my house for a couple of years. Let's see - I think his exact words were, "I need a place to put it for a couple of weeks; maybe three." Sure, OK.
I received a call from great-granddaughter Serenity and her sister Ariana. They are spending a couple weeks in Florida with their grandpa. She called to wish me a happy Father's Day and when I asked what she had been doing she replied, "Oh, the beach thing," and "trying to catch lizards with a net." She is the one who would be very happy if dinosaurs were still roaming about. She is scheduled to return to old boring Pennsylvania on Monday the 29th. The scene at the airport will be very emotional for both her and big ole tough Grandpa.
Now for the not needed news: A week or so ago I heard some newsperson report it was National Lobster Day. Does that mean you don't eat lobster or do you see how many you can eat?
Why do we use Russian built engines in US space vehicles?
Why do prisoners in Dannemora, NY have hot-plates in their cells and be allowed to cook hamburgers? Well done, please.
