Hillary Clinton conceded the election. President Obama had urged her to concede and has stated that there was no “hacking” that could have affected the outcome. Election officials in the three states have meticulously counted the votes, added the votes, certified the votes and in some cases, audited the votes.
Here’s the truth: Donald Trump won many counties that Barack Obama won in 2012. He did so in the same way candidates (including Mr. Obama) win elections: by appealing to the voters. He is far from the first candidate to win an election he was not supposed to win. Officials in all three states - some Democrats, some Republicans - say there is no evidence of wrongdoing or errors or hacking, yet Ms. Stein plows ahead.
She missed the deadline for a recount in Pennsylvania, so is asking the courts to give her one anyway; and Wisconsin officials unanimously rejected her demand for a statewide hand recount, so she is suing to get one. Jill Stein has managed to raise over $6 million to fund her recount effort in those three states. This is substantially more than the $3.5 million she raised to fund her campaign for President.
For what it’s worth, Hillary Clinton carried New Hampshire by fewer than 4,000 votes. Ms. Stein is not seeking a recount there. Hillary Clinton won Minnesota by 44,000 votes (a smaller margin than in Pennsylvania). She is not seeking a recount there. We’ll let the reader draw his own conclusions about that.
The Clinton campaign is “cooperating” with Ms. Stein’s effort. They learned nothing from the election, and still do not understand why they lost. We hope they never figure it out.
