Each year, the Pennsylvania Game Commission opens certain State Game Lands for tours by the with binoculars. Also, there are a lot of places where one can park and walk to some of the historical points, such as old building foundations and cemeteries.
The tour route will take you from the entrance to State Game Lands 12 at Wheelerville Mountain, east to Barclay Cemetery, then down the hill to Laquin before turning west onto the railroad grade to Wheelerville. The tour ends at the intersection with State Route 154 in Wheelerville.
Be prepared to see all sorts of wildlife, trees and fall wildflowers. It has always been a wonderful experience for all who take the time to make the trip.
