I am sure you are now fully aware of the business decision to close the Arnot Medical Group office in Canton.
Now we all can throw up our hands and say that in this day and age this is the way of business. They will consolidate, make a profit, and move on with the wink and nod that the issue is “the bottom line.” However, what truly will be lost --- much more than a questionable explanation of a bottom line.
For just over 40 years Dr. John Kirkowski and his staff have attended to the business of local health care with a personal touch – “…but wait, I forgot that all important issue of the bottom line – yes, that trumps the personal touch”. He maintained a thriving private practice and spent 20+ years as the Canton School doctor.
I personally know how serious he was about students who were injured or needed medical treatment after a football game, took personal interest in the health of students during physicals, and followed up (even on weekends) when a student, under his care, needed medical attention; “….but wait, I forgot that the bottom line again, trumps dedication”
After leaving his private practice and joining the Arnot Medical Group, that personal touch continued and his loyal patients followed him. The Arnot benefited; “…but wait, there is that bottom line again, hum, I thought they were doing well?” When he was in private practice and then with the Arnot Medical Group, his staff mirrored the dedication of Dr. K – that team served the community and was loyal to the Canton area, the school and their patients for all those years; “….but wait, there is that bottom line again, trumping long term community loyalty.” I know I speak for many --- Dr. Kirkowski and the staff at the Arnot Medical Group in Canton --- you provided the community and surrounding area with quality medical service, your dedication and work speaks for itself; and, “your bottom line” is the genuine and lasting appreciation from the community for that service over those many years.
That is the bottom line that matters most and one we all will never forget – and I do mean “never forget.”
