This was in keeping also with the wishes of the current President of the United States, for he made public statements of support for Mrs. Clinton several times during the course of the investigation and isn’t it good to know that in America, the President can freely unburden himself of his deepest wishes without any concerns about the appearance of interfering in the decisions of his subordinates. It is also good to know that we live in an America where one’s station in life cannot influence the course of justice. Imagine! There are places in the world where high officials can commit all kinds of crimes and get away with it because prosecutors and investigators are mere tools of the government and dare not act independently.
Yes, when innocent people are shot in an Orlando nightclub or police officers are shot in Dallas it’s great to be in a country where the President understands that the shooters are really not to be blamed and doesn’t rush to untangle their motives but is able to pause and reflect and determine that the true culprits – guns, the Second Amendment, the NRA, and Republicans – will be held accountable.
Well, the FBI Director and the Attorney General and the President and the former President all are much smarter that we are and they know many things we don’t know, so we guess the rest of us should fall in place behind the administration that promised to “transform America” because after seven and one-half years that’s a promise kept. Just think of how much better things will be if the recently exonerated Mrs. Clinton rules the corridors of power for the next four or eight years. That should be sufficient to root out the last vestiges of quaint, outdated notions of independent thought, accountability for those in high places, personal responsibility, honesty, truth and justice.
