The gardens are mostly done ready to be cleaned up soon for winter weather.
It is good football and soccer weather.
I noticed this weekend many of the leaves are turning color. Soon they will be very pretty.
Saturday, I had the honor of being a proud grandfather performing the wedding ceremony for our granddaughter, Kate Pratt who married Chance Wright in a beautiful outdoor wedding decorated with hay bales, pumpkins, and mums around an arch of fall flowers and leaves, made by Wayne Pratt, the proud father of the bride. Later a reception was held at the home of Wayne and Claire Pratt. Being part of the wedding got me thinking of many weddings in the early years, and the old fashioned Horning Bees that followed. How many of you remember them?
Back in those days you didn't worry about locking doors and the first group were clear into the bedroom before we knew they were there. So, it didn't take long to remember to lock the doors before going to bed.
I remember going to some of these myself when you waited until you were sure they were to bed then you woke them up with car horns, pots and pans or perhaps a buzz saw blade and a hammer or whatever was handy to make a lot of noise.
Pastor John Lattimer had the Sunday Night service this week with the 2nd of his message from a series of 4 entitled "Who is This Jesus Christ?" John Shaffer led the singing. Pastor John and Nancy visited for a while after church.
Enjoy the beautiful leaves etc. this fall because we know what comes next.
