The highlight of the week was Thursday with a very well attended picnic put on by the Housing Authority at noon with over 30 attending.
Likewise the fire meeting in the morning was well attended. A very special thank you to Cindy Roupp, Jim Bailey, Wendy and everybody else who may have helped in any way. Who can help but enjoy a free picnic, when even the table service is supplied? Thank you.
We have been seeing a beautiful buck with six very much visible points and when real close you can count two more small points. Eight in all, Also a doe and two small fawns helping themselves to some of Mary's little green tomatoes. Thankfully they don't seem to bother the bigger and riper ones. Our cucumbers have about had it for the season. This seems like a good time to say thank you to all the good neighbors for bringing in lots of vegetables to Hillcrest. A very helpful solution to meal time.
Thank you to each and everyone who has shared their bounty.
Saturday morning, Joyce and I enjoyed breakfast at Moose's Munchies with grandsons Chris and Vernon Sager as our guests.
Later in the day a trip to our son's for a visit with Wayne and Claire.
Richard had the Sunday night church service with a message from Luke 10: 38-42, the more important part at Jesus' feet listening to His teachings. Shirley Young played the piano.
Being such a beautiful evening, Joyce and I went for ice cream at Moose's Munchies and a ride over the mountain to help Joyce celebrate her birthday.
A reminder: Troy School starts Thursday. Drive carefully and watch out for kids. Most all of the rest start next week as well.
Labor Day is coming up. With school starting, etc. it reminds us that the tenant meetings and pot luck dinners will soon be starting up as well.
